Exceptional. Nice quiet place. Mr Leroux is a very excellent host. We felt at home immediately. We had everything we wanted. Well equipped with the verandah where you can sit and eat listening to birds. Highly recommend Die Skuur. Total privacy. The host is very generous; he even offered to take us wherever we wanted while our car was in the garage for service.

Warm welcome, but needs improvement. Our recent stay at this guesthouse began on a genuinely positive note, with a warm and gracious welcome from the host. His friendliness and willingness to show us around immediately created a sense of comfort, and the property itself is well-located with excellent security, two aspects that certainly stand out. However, despite this promising start, several issues significantly impacted our overall experience. The WiFi, which is essential for most travellers today, was unreliable and did not function during the evenings. This proved to be a consistent inconvenience. The room itself left much to be desired. The bed, unfortunately, lacked proper support and felt unstable, almost like a waterbed, making it difficult to get a restful night’s sleep. Cleanliness was another concern: the shower was not properly maintained, and there appeared to be waterproofing issues in the bathroom, which detracted from the overall comfort and hygiene of the space. While it was a pleasant surprise to find a selection of three different coffees available, this small highlight was overshadowed by poor attention to detail, as the sugar container appeared to be contaminated, likely from a used spoon being placed back into it. More concerning, however, was the presence of large cockroaches within the guesthouse, which is unacceptable for accommodation of this nature. Additionally, the water pressure was extremely poor, making showering an unpleasant experience. In summary, while the host’s hospitality and the property’s location and security are commendable, the guesthouse falls short in areas that are crucial for a comfortable and hygienic stay. With improved maintenance, cleanliness, and attention to detail, this establishment has the potential to offer a much better experience.
