Description
Doringbos Lodge is a hidden gem nestled among the hills on the outskirts of Parys, within the world-renowned Vredefort Dome. This landscape, formed over 2,000 million years ago by a massive meteorite impact, offers a mosaic of hills, valleys, and woods. Guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the crater ring at dusk from the lookout point at the top of Langrant.
The lodge offers accommodation in 6 double-storey, self-catering chalets, each tucked away in natural vegetation to ensure privacy. The units can accommodate between 2 and 6 guests and feature two bathrooms (one en-suite), with the exception of the honeymoon suite. Each chalet is equipped with gas heaters, a safe, an alarm system, a TV with DStv, and private braai facilities.
In a commitment to sustainability, solar energy is the primary source of electricity for the property. Communal facilities include a heated splash pool and a boma area, perfect for relaxing after a day in the bush.
Doringbos Lodge is a paradise for eco-tourism, photography, and birdwatching. The farm is enclosed by a modern electrified game fence and is home to more than 15 wildlife species. Guests are encouraged to explore the farm through game viewing on foot or by bicycle, and the terrain is ideal for both hikers and mountain bikers.
The lodge is situated within a 15 km radius of the town of Parys, known for its antique shops, art galleries, and restaurants along the Vaal River.
