Great place to unwind, let the kids safely explore and forget the rat race. We had a fantastic weekend stay at the farm with our family (two adults and two kids, 12 and 11), and it ticked all the right boxes for a relaxed countryside escape. The farmhouse itself is beautifully set up — comfortable, well-equipped, and thoughtfully finished. The quality of the furnishings, crockery, linen, and overall attention to detail really stood out and made it feel like a proper home rather than a rental. The setting is a highlight. Stunning views in every direction, with trout dams, a river, and plenty of wildlife roaming around — we spotted eland, zebra, bontebok, and lots of birdlife (the ducks were a hit with the kids). There are also some lovely picnic spots around the property, perfect for slowing things down and just enjoying the surroundings. It’s also conveniently close to town, which makes popping out for a meal or supplies easy without taking away from the “getting away from it all” feeling. The staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient throughout — everything just worked without fuss. Fishing-wise… let’s just say the fish were a bit elusive — although that may say more about those fishing rather than the dams. All in all, a great spot for a family break. Peaceful, scenic, and very comfortable — we’d definitely come back.
