Bo-Kaap is a close-knit Muslim community that observes daily prayers five times a day. During these times, guests may hear the call to prayer, and it is respectful to keep music and other festivities on the balcony to a minimum. Parties are not permitted, and smoking inside the apartment is strictly prohibited.
