Description
Gypsy Wagons Clarens offers a unique self-catering glamping experience nestled beneath mature oak trees, situated approximately 600 m from the Clarens Village Square. This hand-crafted retreat combines creativity and comfort in a tranquil garden setting and is ideally suited to couples or travellers seeking a distinctive and peaceful stay close to the village.
Accommodation is provided in 4 authentic wooden wagons, namely Rosella, Esmerelda, Queenie, and Thisbe, each individually designed with colourful décor, a raised queen-size bed, an en-suite bathroom, and a kitchenette. Each wagon is fitted with a fireplace or wood-burning stove, while thick insulation ensures comfort during both summer and winter months. In addition, 2 camper vans, Delilah the Dreamer and Tilly the Flamingo, are available and are equipped for comfortable self-catering with kitchenettes, private seating areas, and access to nearby outdoor showers set within a bamboo forest.
Guests have access to a range of shared on-site facilities, including free Wi-Fi, daily servicing, secure parking with remote-controlled access, and a borehole water supply. The landscaped garden offers shaded seating areas with hammocks and swings, as well as a communal fire pit and braai area. One of the popular and unique features is the communal outside waterfall shower and a scenic outdoor toilet.
The property is located within easy reach of shops, galleries, and cafés in Clarens, while scenic hiking trails begin on the premises. Golden Gate Highlands National Park is located approximately 20 km from the property. Gypsy Wagons Clarens offers a balance between peaceful nature and convenient access to local attractions. The property is not wheelchair-accessible, and the accommodation is not suitable for children under 10. The hosts reside on site and are available to offer a warm welcome and local insights.
