Hoenderhokkie is a 10/10 for location, friendly service and safety, and scenery. We truly had such a great time at Hoenderhokkie. It was the closest accommodation to one of the town's wedding venues, which wouldn't "break the bank"! :) The owners/host family were just wonderful and so accommodating. If we had any major issues (which, fortunately, we didn't), it was easy to get in touch since we could communicate with them via WhatsApp or just take a few steps out of the house and speak to them, since they were regularly outside doing farmwork. Safety was a 10/10, further solidified by the number of dogs running around the property (all really friendly for someone who did not grow up around many pets). The house was incredibly clean (not one speck of dirt under my feet as an avid "kaalvoet loper" :D). It was quite a nice surprise that the owners left us a couple of juices, cookies, bottled water and a KitKat each for our stay. For two "city mice", my partner and I truly enjoyed seeing the cows, chickens and goats roaming around outside. Overall, it was an extremely pleasant stay. One regret is not staying long enough! If you ever book Hoenderhokkie, please stay longer than 2 days if you can. There is just too much to experience and enjoy, from the farm life to the wonderful conversations with the "host family". If the opportunity arises to travel to the Eastern Cape again, my partner and I will definitely try to book a stay at Hoenderhokkie again! Thank you, Narissa, for such a great stay :).

Very peaceful. We had a very nice stay. Bedside lamps would be nice. A shower (separate) with toilet would be a good addition.

Baie rustig. Ons het baie lekker gebly. Bedlampies sal lekker wees. 'n Stort (apart) met toilet sal 'n goeie toevoeging wees.
