Jakkelsroep is a private bushveld retreat located approximately 40 km from Pretoria in a malaria-free area, offering a selection of self-catering accommodation and camping options. The property provides a tranquil natural setting where guests can enjoy a relaxed bush experience with opportunities to view wildlife such as impalas, nyalas, zebras, ostriches, and blesbok roaming freely on the premises.
Accommodation is available in multiple units and tented options. Unit 1 accommodates up to 4 guests across 2 bedrooms, with a double bed in the main bedroom and 2 three-quarter beds in the second bedroom. It features an open-plan kitchen and living area with air conditioning, a covered patio, braai facilities, a private splash pool, and a boma. This unit is pet-friendly.
Unit 2 also accommodates up to 4 guests in 2 bedrooms, with a double bed in the air-conditioned main bedroom and 2 three-quarter beds with a fan in the second bedroom. The unit includes a fully equipped kitchen, a covered patio with a built-in braai, and a private swimming pool. This unit is also pet-friendly.
The Luxury Tent Chalet accommodates 2 guests and includes air conditioning, an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath and an outdoor shower, a self-catering kitchenette, and private braai facilities. A hot water feature is available; however, it does not include jets. This unit is not child-friendly, and no additional guests or children are permitted. The bathroom does not have a door.
The Luxury Meerkat Tent accommodates 2 adults in a king-size bed with an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower. Two children under the age of 12 may be accommodated on a sleeper couch, with guests required to provide their own bedding. The tent includes air conditioning, an outdoor kitchenette, and private braai facilities.
The camping area consists of 2 shaded stands, each equipped with power points and braai facilities, along with access to a shared ablution block with a shower, toilet, and basin.
On-site facilities include free WiFi (not guaranteed to be continuously available), covered parking, a communal swimming pool, a lapa, a picnic area with seating, a trampoline, and a small jungle gym. Guests can enjoy activities such as birdwatching, cycling, hiking, picnics, and spa treatments available on request.
The property is conveniently located near popular attractions, including the Tsukulu Gate of the Dinokeng Game Reserve, the Lion and Cheetah Reserve, guided game drives, hiking trails, boat trips, and local restaurants.
