Kashete Plains Expedition & Campsite is a serene, eco-conscious retreat set along the edge of the Okavango Eastern Panhandle, where river, plains, and sky meet in a peaceful wilderness setting. Surrounded by unspoilt wetlands, deep channels, and rich biodiversity, it offers an authentic nature-based escape close to one of the world’s most remarkable inland delta systems.
The campsite features semi-luxury tents on raised decks overlooking marshy plains, 3 camping grounds, firepits, and a small open kitchen serving wholesome meals. Designed with sustainability in mind, it integrates green energy solutions and low-impact structures that blend naturally into the environment.
Activities include birdwatching, boating, nature walks, cultural village visits, fishing, and sunset cruises, making it an ideal base for couples, families, and small groups seeking a tranquil wilderness experience.
The Okavango Panhandle feeds the Okavango Delta and supports a rich ecosystem of riverine forests, papyrus-lined lagoons, and abundant wildlife. Guests may encounter hippos, crocodiles, and rare species such as the sitatunga, alongside exceptional birdlife including Pels Fishing Owl, White-backed Night-Heron, African Skimmer, Western Banded Snake-Eagle, and seasonal Carmine Bee-eaters.
