Kimburu Bushcamp is the ideal self-catering accommodation for those seeking a bushveld getaway that is not too far from town. It is located 25 km from Middelburg (Mpumalanga) along the N11, in the direction of the well-known Loskop Dam.
Kimburu Bushcamp offers a variety of accommodation options, including family rooms, double rooms, boma chalets, a safari tent, and a dome tent. The family rooms are suitable for families with young children, while the double rooms are ideal for couples. The boma chalets are situated close together, making them suitable for larger groups. The safari tent offers a degree of privacy from the chalets and is equipped with its own fridge-freezer, microwave, braai facilities, and cutlery.
Two fully equipped communal kitchens are available, each with a fridge-freezer, microwave, gas stove, cookware, and utensils. Guests should be prepared to share. Ablution facilities with hot-water showers and toilets are provided. Clean borehole drinking water is available. Bedding is supplied, but guests are requested to bring their own bath towels. The entire camp can be booked exclusively, making it ideal for weddings, family gatherings, farewell functions, birthdays, children’s parties, and reunions. The camp can accommodate up to 28 guests. Guests can enjoy cycling, hiking, picnics, wildlife viewing (meerkats, ostriches, turkeys, and more), and birdwatching. Evenings around the campfire under the starry bushveld sky offer a perfect end to the day.
The bush camp features a cold-water swimming pool for guests to enjoy. Guests are asked to bring their own swimming towels. There is a jungle gym for younger children, including a trampoline. A water slide is currently under construction.
The bush camp provides a farm-style atmosphere where guests can relax under the shade of the trees. Children are welcome to bring their own bicycles. The farm is home to various animals that delight children – the donkeys are especially friendly and enjoy attention. Other animals include turkeys, geese, ducks, guinea fowl, and peacocks. Birdwatchers will enjoy the rich birdlife, including species such as bushveld pipit, paradise flycatcher, batis, woodpecker, and guinea fowl.
Guests can unwind and enjoy a drink around the campfire in the boma. The starry night sky provides natural evening lighting.
