House Rules

The maximum number of guests must not exceed the number stated on the booking form. All ages count as a person unless under 6 months old. Day visitors are only allowed with prior arrangement from the host.
This is self-catering accommodation. No cleaning services are provided during your stay. Requests for cleaning will be referred to an outside contractor. A fresh set of linen will be provided for stays longer than 10 days.
Fires are only allowed in the braai facilities and fireplaces. No fires or fireworks are allowed on the beach or surrounding areas. Please exercise caution when braaiing and never leave hot coals or ash unattended.
Smoking and vaping are not permitted indoors. Cigarettes must be extinguished safely in an ashtray due to the high fire risk. Use candles carefully, as hot wax can damage furniture and soft furnishings.
Only toilet paper should be flushed down the toilets.
The alarm system must always be activated when leaving the property; failure to do so may invalidate insurance policies.
Swimming pools, where available, are used at guests’ own risk. Children must always be under adult supervision.
Guests must respect neighbours and avoid disturbances. Loud music or excessive noise is not permitted, particularly after 22:00. All outside lights should be turned off after 22:00.
This area is a UNESCO biosphere protected village. Please respect the local flora and fauna.
Baboons may be present on the property and should be treated with caution. Guests are advised not to feed them, to keep all windows and doors closed when away, and to follow the property’s baboon-proofing measures, such as stacked or locked doors and windows. In the event that a baboon enters the house, a calm approach should be maintained, and a clear exit route provided.
No pets are allowed unless prior arrangements have been made. Owners must comply with applicable by-laws.
Furniture and fixtures should not be moved, and locked cupboards must be respected as private property.
The municipal garbage truck collects every Thursday morning. To prevent baboon interference, guests should place black waste bags at the local waste station at the entrance to Pringle Bay. Bags must also be taken away on departure.
Wi-Fi signal may be intermittent and may not meet city standards due to the small-town location.
On departure, guests must ensure all windows and doors are closed and locked, activate the alarm, leave the house in the same condition as on arrival, wash and pack away all dishes, drop refuse bags at the waste station, and return the keys to the lockbox at the property.
Any damage or breakages must be reported to the host and will be for the guest’s account. Excessive cleaning or laundry costs will also be charged to the guest. The accommodation, furniture, fixtures, and effects must be kept in the same state of repair, cleanliness, and order as at the start of the stay.
