Quite and peaceful stay. Ledges Retreat offers all sorts of activities, including hikes up the river and the mountain. Their pool is the perfect place to relax with a cup of tea and read a book. The breakfast menu caters for a variety of diets and preferences. My highlight was spending my morning walking along the river and up to the Sungubala Eco Camp. I can't wait to return and meet friendly supporting staff.

Peaceful and convenient. We loved our time in the hillside cottage. The area is beautiful and we spent most of our time birding, relaxing, and enjoying takeaways from the Tower of Pizza with a movie. Would recommend!

Beautiful location and lovely silence. We had a wonderful rest. Upon our arrival, we were kindly received by Nokwe and she informed us about our place of residence and also about what there is to do in the area. We stayed in the Hillside Cottage for 4 nights. The cottage has a beautiful view of the mountains and is well furnished and tidy. We slept very well, the beds and bedding are of good quality. We had a great time relaxing on the sunny stoep and there is also a nice picnic area set up next to the river. If you want to relax, rest and be quiet, this is the place for it. We will definitely stay there again to recharge. There are also hiking trails in the area and some nice restaurants, all very close to Ledges Retreat.

A quiet winter getaway into the mountains with my teens for a few days. Loved our stay in Hillside cottage. Clean, serviced daily and very comfortable. Do take all your catering supplies with, as the local shop at the nearby campsite is very basic. The only pity is the braai wall obscures the best views of the berg.
