Peaceful and relaxing. Private cottage with a beautiful view. Peaceful and relaxing. Splash pool/tub. Braai pit. Outside shower. Sit back and enjoy the view. No TV. No WiFi. Not needed! Quality time at its best!

I almost want to keep this gem to myself. I'm the kind of person who, when looking for somewhere to go on holiday, scours the area (on Google Earth) seeking places that are genuinely remote, where I am pretty much guaranteed not to see anyone else during my stay (and that includes the presence of other cottages or camp sites nearby). This little cottage/cabin met that requirement, and then some. Situated 25km out of Jansenville on a gravel road (note: although traversable in a sedan, it's not recommended, and would require good driving skills to do so), the cabin at Lovedale Farm is located far enough away from the main house to feel as though you have the farm to yourself. Mike is a phenomenal host; his comms prior to check-in were reassuring and his directions meant that at no point did we become concerned that we might have taken the wrong turnoff, and he met us at the farm entrance to direct us to the cabin. The cabin is immaculate, and beautifully and very thoughtfully appointed. Having stayed in innumerable self-catering facilities where there's generally always something missing (e.g. scissors or ice trays), I'm always acutely aware of what's provided - we wanted for nothing. There's a small honesty bar, coffee pods, and additional firewood and firelighters over and above those provided on a complimentary basis (also all on an honesty system), so even though we'd forgotten to pick up firewood en route, it wasn't an issue. We honestly wished that we had been able to stay a 3rd night, which is somewhat rare for us as we're usually ready to leave a spot after 2 nights! Many thanks for a really rustig couple of days.

Wonderful host, beautiful location, amazing accommodation. From the get-go, our host was excellent. His communication via WhatsApp was on point and friendly. His directions led us straight to his gate where he met us with enthusiasm! The accommodation was more than we expected, and he has really put in a lot of effort to fit the house with all the things you could imagine you could use. Beautiful location, quiet, tranquil and above all, a feeling of seclusion from the race that is normal life. 10/10.

Thoughtful, all you need is there! Lovedale is a great, remote getaway, with beautiful scenic views. The host was very friendly and the place has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Loved it and will be back!

Baie goeie geriewe, alles wat mens nodig het en 'off the grid.'. Fantastiese plek! Mike het alles puik hanteer, baie goed gekommunikeer, ons ontmoet soos afgespreek. Baie goeie diens. Ons het dit baie geniet.

Wonderfully relaxing away from everything. The place was spotless, well laid out, and had everything we needed. Super comfortable bed and a peaceful, quiet setting — perfect for relaxing and recharging. Highly recommend! We will definitely be back again soon!
