Relaxing and scenic. An absolute treat! Definitely would recommend. It's nice and close to Cape Town. Popping out to the surrounding towns is a must.

A peaceful Karoo escape with great views. The first thing you notice is the silence. There’s no traffic, no city noise, just wind across the fields and the occasional birds. It’s the kind of quiet that feels rare. The glamping setup balances comfort with simplicity. The tents are well designed and feel more like small cabins than typical camping. You still get the outdoor experience, but with a proper bed, clean facilities, and thoughtful touches that make the stay comfortable, even during the chilly Karoo nights. One of the highlights is the outdoor wood-fired hot tub. Sitting in warm water while looking out over endless golden fields is hard to beat. On clear days the view stretches for kilometres, and at night the sky becomes the real attraction. This region is famous for its stars, and you quickly understand why. There isn’t a packed itinerary or big attractions nearby. The focus is simply on slowing down and enjoying the space and quiet. If you enjoy nature, open space, and a bit of rustic comfort, I highly recommend Meerhof Luxury Glamping. It’s a great escape from busy city life and a place that reminds you how big and peaceful the world can feel.

Breathtaking view - Away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We were very warmly welcomed by Mia, and she was just a phone call away if we wanted to know or needed anything; she immediately attended to it. For us it was a new experience. The tent flap that could be opened and the feeling of sleeping outside was incredible. The staff at the restaurant were also very friendly. We would definitely stay there again.

With the challenges, we built irreplaceable memories. The pre-visit at Meerhof cellar was fantastic. Their Merlot was full on the nose and very pleasant, one of the better ones we have tasted. Their pita bread was fantastic, certainly in our top 5. We cannot complain about the service either. Mia was our hostess, very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble for her. We were in regular contact with her before our arrival, so our expectations of the place to stay were already set. The photos on the website made us even more excited for the weekend. The tranquility, view of the harvested wheat fields and silence around the Glans Tent are priceless. You become humble there, get food for your soul and realize how small you really are. All the basic necessities are there, an indoor and outdoor braai with enough fire starters. You get 2 bags of wood, too little if you need to heat the hot tub, but wood is for sale at the restaurant. The Glans Tent as a whole has seen better days; renovation is needed. The one window on the side is broken (this was mentioned in another review), a few window handles are broken, there are cleaning services that need to clean before the next people come in, it is not done properly. The mattress could be replaced, as well as a cover for the one under the bed. Power was never a problem, as was hot water since there is gas, but getting the right balance between hot and cold was very difficult as the water pressure was very variable; then it is too hot and suddenly too cold again. You are in beautiful nature, there are flies, so bring spray with you; they also give it just in case you need it. The hot tub water should preferably be drained after each visit as there is no chlorine. This is an affordable getaway, even though it has its challenges. This could truly become a sought-after getaway if the necessary attention is given to it. Feel free to visit the 8 Mile Village for a coffee, beer and something to eat; It's only about 3 km on the road to Riebeek Castle, just to the left as you go down the pass.

Die vooraf kuier by Meerhof kelder was fantasties gewees.
