A pleasant stay in spite of difficult circumstances. We stayed downstairs in the "Cooks Quarters" which were clean and comfortable. Miemie and Tertia, at reception, were always friendly and informative. Unfortunately, we were woken up at around 6:30 every morning by huge vehicles parked on the property, outside our window, starting the engines and letting them run for 10 to 15 minutes. There was no electricity for the last two nights of our stay due to the huge fire in Elim affecting the supply to Struisbaai. We were provided with some emergency lighting which was adequate but not really sufficient. Hats off to the staff for still being able to produce a really good breakfast under difficult circumstances and for doing their best. Our waiter was fantastic, with a lovely sense of humour. We stayed downstairs.
