Modderfontein Farm Campsite is set in the heart of Namaqualand, just 10 km from Springbok on Kleinzee Road. This off-the-grid campsite is an ideal base camp for those wanting to experience the wonder of the famous annual natural flower phenomena. It is also an ideal stopover for guests travelling to or from the Richersveld or Nambia.
Modderfontein has 15 unmarked camping stands, allowing for privacy and intimacy, or freedom for larger groups travelling together. There is no electricity on the camp stands. There are 2 neat, tiled ablution blocks, and hot water is provided by a wood-burning 'donkey-system', to soothe body and soul after a long day on the road. The ablutions have easy access for paraplegic visitors.
No camping experience is complete without a nice big campfire in the evening. Braai your steak, make a traditional 'potjiekos' and relax around the campfire.
Explore the farm at your own leisure, walking down to the unique potholes in the river through breathtaking fields of wildflowers or for the more energetic, mountain biking to the rocky outposts. See the quiver trees in all their glory.
