Montanus is situated on the Clarens Golf and Trout Estate in the picturesque town of Clarens and offers comfortable self-catering accommodation in an upmarket, 4-bedroom home. Clarens is a popular tourist getaway destination and is the ideal town in which to relax over a weekend or longer stay.
The house can accommodate 8 guests in 4 beautifully appointed, spacious bedrooms, each on a different level. There are 3 bedrooms with double beds and a fourth bedroom with twin beds. Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a shower and a bath. The bedrooms contain large built-in cupboards and dressing tables, and linen and towels are provided. The open-plan living area is spacious and beautifully furnished and comprises a lounge, dining room and conversation nook. There is also a wood fireplace, ideal for the winter months.
Leading out from 2 sliding doors is an outdoor patio complete with outdoor furniture and a built-in charcoal braai. Guests can enjoy views over Clarens, the surrounding Rooiberg, and the distant Maluti mountains of Lesotho. The house is also equipped with a TV with full DStv. The kitchen overlooks the living area and is fully self-catering with granite counters, under-the-counter oven, glass top hob, a fridge with freezer, and a microwave. From the kitchen, there is a scullery complete with a dishwasher, a washing machine, a tumble dryer, and a wash-up area. The house also has a double garage for 2 cars, as well as parking for 2 cars on the paved driveway.
The original 9-hole golf course has been developed and upgraded to an 18-hole course by developers. All 18 holes meander along and across the tranquil river and its series of dams. The new clubhouse is well appointed and offers wonderful mountain views. Visitors to Clarens have a variety of activities to choose from including white water rafting, horse riding, quad biking, hiking, tennis, squash, trout fishing, art courses, golf, abseiling, mountain trails, and nature reserves. Enquiries for all these activities can be made at the local information centres in Clarens.
