Owen Huis @ Boskloof Swemgat is situated about 10 km from Clanwilliam in the Boskloof Valley, a magnificent, unspoiled area, bordering on the Cederberg Wilderness Area. The Jan Dissels River flows through the valley, and the farm was named after a favourite rock pool the river forms in the middle of the land, "Swemgat".
This cottage can comfortably accommodate 4 guests at a time and comprises 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. The main bedroom is furnished with a double bed, and the second bedroom with 2 single beds. A shower, washbasin, and toilet are available in the bathroom.
The open-plan living area features a kitchen equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, fridge, cutlery, and crockery, as well as a breakfast bar with stools. Leading from this kitchen is a cosy lounge with comfortable seating and a fireplace.
Outside, there is a lovely patio with a picnic table and a built-in braai, which is the perfect spot for guests to relax with a sundowner while overlooking the surrounding countryside.
Wood and homemade products are for sale at the kiosk for your convenience. Guests can enjoy swimming and fishing in the clear, unpolluted river, bring their mountain bikes or take on the hiking routes on foot. Children can enjoy the farm animals and play in the river. With around 1000 trees over 11 hectares, Boskloof Swemgat is home to an abundance of birdlife.
