Spectacular views but guard against baboons. The location and the home are beautiful, with spectacular views and excellent amenities. The house is modern, well-equipped, and clearly designed to make the most of its stunning surroundings. However, there are several issues that impacted our stay. The most significant is the presence of baboons, which means doors must remain closed at all times to avoid unwanted visitors. As the home is surrounded by glass, this causes the interior to become very hot. The air conditioning in the bedroom was a great help, but unfortunately, the unit in the main living area and the downstairs bedroom was not working. The upstairs bedroom windows require a thorough clean, and the damage to the windows in the downstairs bedroom caused by the builders should be addressed. The bathroom layouts also offer very little privacy, which may not suit all guests. Access to the cottage is another concern. Guests must either navigate a steep hillside that is not a proper pathway or exit through the back of the house. This setup means cottage guests cannot enter the main house without someone granting access from inside. Additionally, the cottage and the main house share the same key. This creates an inconvenience, as a guest leaving the cottage would need to take the key, effectively locking others inside the house. We also experienced issues with the outdoor fireplace. The draw was not functioning correctly, and the slider had to remain closed; otherwise, smoke would fill the house. Overall, this is a beautiful property in a fantastic location, and the views are truly exceptional. However, the issues mentioned above, particularly the baboon threat, access arrangements, and maintenance concerns, do detract from the overall experience and enjoyment of the property.
