Old Willow No.7 Houseboat Charters offers guests a unique self-catering river cruising experience aboard houseboats docked on the Vaal River at the Korhaan River Estate in Sasolburg. Surrounded by scenic waterways and riverfront attractions, the property provides an adventurous and relaxing escape where guests are able to captain their own cruise along one of South Africa’s permanently navigable inland waterways.

Accommodation is offered in 10 marine architect-designed houseboats manufactured to high safety standards. Each boat comprises a fore-cabin furnished with a double bed, a single sleeper couch, and storage space. The indoor dining area converts into an additional double bed, while the bathroom is fitted with a hot shower, a chemical toilet, and a basin. Guests are required to bring their own towels, while all other essential onboard facilities are provided.

Each boat features a well-appointed galley equipped with a gas stove, oven, bar fridge, and sink for self-catering convenience. Outside, guests can enjoy a sitting area beneath a retractable awning, charcoal braai facilities, and deck chairs positioned on the upper deck for relaxing river views.

Guests are able to take the helm of a self-drive houseboat and explore the Vaal Barrage or cruise along approximately 55 km of navigable waterways. Assistance and guidance are provided before departure, including route planning and operational instructions, with 24-hour support available throughout the cruise. The surrounding area offers opportunities to visit riverfront restaurants, spas, and a casino resort, while additional activities include fishing, water sports, sightseeing, and relaxing alongside the river.
