Description
Welcome to Pelindaba Rock Retreat, located in the chameleon forest of Greater Hartbeespoort, a renowned resort area offering charming views of the Crocodile River. The property is conveniently situated approximately 4 km from the Lion & Safari Park and Lesedi Cultural Village, as well as several other local attractions.
The off-the-grid, self-catering villa comfortably accommodates 8 guests. The house is built from the distinctive Pelindaba Elephant Rock, unique to the area. It features a well-maintained indigenous garden, where frogs and chameleons feel at home, as well as an open swimming pool, a built-in braai facility, and outdoor patio furniture.
The main house comprises 3 bedrooms. The main bedroom features a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, shower, and toilet. The second bedroom has 2 single beds, while the third bedroom has a queen-size bed. These 2 bedrooms share a full bathroom with a bath, shower, washbasin, and toilet. The stone cottage, located just across the courtyard, has a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower, washbasin, and toilet.
The living area features a kitchen equipped with cutlery, crockery, a gas hob with no oven, a kettle and a fridge-freezer. Adjacent to the kitchen is a 6-seater dining room, which leads into an open-plan lounge with a fireplace and comfortable seating.
Apart from the lions calling in the evening, the property offers a quiet and private retreat, where guests can relax in the lush garden to the sounds of local birdlife, croaking frogs, and the gentle flow of the nearby river. Guests who wish to explore the surroundings are welcome to hike to the top of the hill directly behind the house, which offers views of Rhenosterkop Mountain, the Crocodile River, and the valley.
Nearby attractions include the Lion and Safari Park, the Sterkfontein Caves, Maropeng, Lesedi Cultural Village, Home of the Chicken Pie, as well as numerous wedding venues and country restaurants.
