Phillipskop Eco-Chalets offer a peaceful escape where guests can relax in harmony with nature and experience the rich biodiversity of the Cape fynbos. These comfortable eco-chalets are set within a scenic private nature reserve, surrounded by sweeping mountain views, making them ideal for families, small groups, nature lovers, and remote working.
Each chalet accommodates up to 7 guests in 3 bedrooms and features a spacious open-plan living area that opens onto a wooden deck with expansive views. The kitchens are fully equipped for self-catering, and each unit includes a private braai area overlooking the mountain slopes. Solar power with battery backup ensures a reliable electricity supply, while a wood-burning stove provides warmth during cooler winter evenings. A games loft adds an extra element of fun and entertainment.
Overnight guests enjoy exclusive access to Phillipskop’s unique natural swimming pool, as well as a network of hiking trails ranging from easy walks to more challenging routes, allowing guests to explore the 246-hectare reserve. The diverse fynbos vegetation and ever-changing landscapes make the area rewarding to visit throughout the year.
Guests can also visit Phillipskop Cave, a local heritage site featuring the only recorded rock art on the Cape Whale Coast, offering a fascinating glimpse into the region’s history. Guided nature walks can be arranged with the hosts for those wanting to learn more about the local plants, wildlife, and landscape.
The chalets are located a short distance from the charming village of Stanford, which offers a variety of coffee shops, restaurants, and markets. Phillipskop is also an excellent base from which to explore the wider Overberg region.
