House Rules
To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay for all guests, please observe the following house rules:
We rely on solar power and a limited water supply from a borehole tank. Please be mindful of your energy and water usage.
Power won't be a problem, we have a big system running for your convenience.
Our water supply is limited, and we ask that you take 5-minute showers only.
Report any leaks or water waste to the host immediately.
Our toilet system is a composting toilet that can flush, and we ask that you follow these guidelines:
Do not flush tampons, pads, or any other sanitary products down the toilet.Only toilet paper and human waste should be flushed.
No hairdryers or irons are allowed due to our limited electrical supply.
No electrical heaters are permitted.
Our inverter is only capable of supporting lights, pressure pump, the fridge, cellphones, laptops, and the TV. Please be mindful of your electrical usage and avoid overloading the system.
The Big screen TV is available for use.
DStv, Netflix, and YouTube are available.
Please do not feed the baboons or any other wildlife. Feeding them can cause problems and make them dependent on humans for food.
Baboons regularly cross the cabin to the valley, so please keep doors closed to prevent them from entering the cabin when leaving the premises.
No animals, including dogs, cats, or any other type of pet, are allowed at the cabin. The presence of animals can attract baboons, which can be aggressive and pose a threat to both humans and animals.
No open fires are allowed except at the designated fire pit or braai areas.
Please ensure that all fires are fully extinguished before leaving them unattended.
Smoking of tobacco products and hubbly smoking is Not allowed Inside the cabin.
Welcome to smoke outside.
Vaping is allowed inside the cabin.
Our cabin features a deck on a cliff, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
For safety reasons, children are not allowed on the deck without adult supervision at all times.
Please exercise caution when using the deck, as the cliff edge can be hazardous.
To use the warm water shower or bath, please switch on the pressure pump.
It is essential to switch off the pressure pump after use, as leaving it on can drain the electricity supply.
Please switch the pressure pump on and off as needed for showering, bathing, or washing dishes.
Please note that the water from the taps is safe to drink BUT its borehole water from the earth.
Additionally, a water dispenser is available for drinking distilled water.
Please note that it is against the law to pick or damage the fynbos flowers on the mountain.
We kindly request that you respect and protect this unique and fragile ecosystem.
Inside the Outdoor Bathroom 3, there is a washing machine that is only for use of the staff for washing, not for guests to use for their washing, due to the limited water supply.
Please respect our off-grid lifestyle and conserve energy and water whenever possible.
Keep the cabin clean and tidy, and report any damages or issues to the host immediately.
Guests are responsible for any damages or losses caused during their stay.

By booking our cabin, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these house rules.
The Guest agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Host, its agents, and its employees against any and all claims, demands, actions, and causes of action that may arise from or be connected with the Guest's stay at the Property, including but not limited to:
Any damage or destruction of the Property, its contents, or any surrounding property
Any injury or harm to the Guest, their invitees, or any other person
Any violation of these House Rules or any applicable laws or regulations
Any other losses, damages, or expenses incurred by the Host as a result of the Guest's stay
The Guest's indemnity obligations shall survive the termination of their stay and their obligations under this Agreement.
By booking the Property, the Guest acknowledges that they have read, understand, and agree to be bound by this indemnity clause.
