Rietrylaagte Akkommodasie is situated on a working farm near the small farming community of Trawal and offers a peaceful countryside escape between Cape Town and Namibia. Guests should please note that approximately 5 km of hard gravel road must be travelled to reach the property. The accommodation is ideally suited to travellers seeking a convenient overnight stop or those visiting the area during spring to experience the flower season. Guests can enjoy the tranquillity of farm life while surrounded by natural beauty and wildlife.
Accommodation is offered in 3 self-catering units, namely Patrys, Kolgans, and Tarentaal. Patrys comprises 2 bedrooms and accommodates up to 4 guests. The main bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed, while the second bedroom contains 2 single beds. The bathroom is fitted with a shower, toilet, and washbasin. The unit includes air-conditioning, an alarm system, a lounge with comfortable seating and a large built-in braai, as well as a fully equipped kitchen. Additional amenities include tea- and coffee-making facilities, complimentary chocolates, a TV with EasyView channels, Wi-Fi, and a KolKol hot tub suitable for 4 guests. Kolgans comprises 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen and living area. The lounge is furnished with comfortable couches and a TV with Netflix, while complimentary Wi-Fi and tea- and coffee-making facilities are also available. The unit further features an alarm system and a covered patio with braai facilities. Tarentaal is a smaller unit mainly suited to overnight stays and is situated next to the working storage area. The unit accommodates up to 4 guests in 2 separate rooms, one furnished with a double bed and the other with 2 single beds. The bathroom is fitted with a shower and toilet, and the unit includes a well-equipped kitchen and outdoor braai area. Linen is provided in all units, while guests are required to bring their own towels.
Guests can relax on the patios while enjoying the sounds of nature and observing the birdlife on the farm, including guinea fowl, peacocks, and turkeys. Cell phone reception is available in certain areas of the farm, and calls can also be made using the available Wi-Fi. Activities on the property include flower viewing during the blooming season, walking among the farm animals, and enjoying the 4x4 and mountain biking routes. The farm also offers excellent opportunities for photography enthusiasts to capture landscapes, wildlife, sunsets, and sunrises, while the white ostriches provide an additional unique attraction.
