Hot, uncomfortable, no solitude, unfriendly staff, lots of mindless driving. Bitterpan has a beautiful setting. Going in summer is an error. It is extremely hot with no respite from the heat as there is no shade from the setting sun in the West. There are very limited roads and they are one way into the camp, so you are stuck driving a lot of km to get to roads to get back to the camp in the part of the park with the least animal sightings. The rooms are on top of each other, so if you like driving for miles to get solitude and the camp is full, you get the opposite. If you like hearing the bodily functions of your neighbours, like being hot in the summer, like hearing every single movement and word of your neighbour, and like driving miles with no animal sightings, then this is the camp for you. If you like coming back to an unmade tent, then this is the camp for you. If the camp has two couples on opposite ends, then it's a different campsite. When full, it's the opposite of solitude. The staff member we had was the most unfriendly and unhelpful person we have ever had to deal with, as all guests said the same thing.
