Description
Take time to breathe and restore yourself in this peaceful place surrounded by natural beauty in Scarborough conservation village which borders the Cape Point Nature Reserve. . Nestled in indigenous vegetation on a mountainside overlooking the turqouise ocean and beautiful beaches, our simple timber frame home, a little rough around the edges, is located at the secluded northern end of the village, sheltered from the prevailing southeast summer wind. Immerse yourself in nature., hiking, surfing, kite-surfing or swimming in the icy Atlantic. Our cottage is a double storey and you will occupy the top storey which is L- shaped and consists of 2 self-contained but interleading wings. The main, west facing wing includes a large open plan living space, dining area and kitchen opening onto a deck overlooking the ocean and a small en-suite bedroom with a double bed, also opening onto the deck which spans the entire wing and includes a table and chairs. The interleading wing, aka Alpha Centauri, which can also be accessed separately, includes a small living space, a single bed/ couch, and kitchenette leading onto a small west facing deck. A small ensuite bedroom with a 3/4 sized bed, with an east facing window and a second north facing window and leading onto a small courtyard. Ideal for a small family, digital nomads or group of friends who enjoy hiking, surfing, kite-surfing and are looking for a comfortable, peaceful base.
Access to the property is via a driveway from the street. The driveway is steep and tricky to navigate and you may prefer to park across the entrance to the driveway or in a neighbour's parking space closeby.
The downstairs is occupied by the owners and is accessed separately.
Scarborough is a friendly village loved by locals and visitors alike. You can find freshly baked bread, wholesome food and good coffee at the local deli; and delicious breakfasts. lunches and tea time treats at the laid-back local cafés.
