Description

Sperrgebiet Lodge offers self-catering thatched-roof units and is situated on the farm Sperrgebiet, 10 km outside Springbok which is 2.3 km from the N7, in the beautiful Namaqualand. The farm is situated between mountains and quiver tree-covered koppies and is built in the middle of this rugged and beautiful semi-desert.

Accommodation is offered in 6 self-catering units, one of which is a family unit. Each compact unit features an en-suite bathroom and contains a TV with selected DStv channels and free Wi-Fi Internet access. Each unit has access to a braai area with lovely views of the farm to admire. Guests have access to the communal swimming pool, located close to the units.

During the Spring months, guests can hear the call of the grasshopper and the barking geckos. Bird watchers are encouraged to bring their binoculars, as the owners have identified 69 different species of bird.

There are a variety of activities in the surrounding area for guests to enjoy such as bird watching, hiking trails; golf at a nearby golf course, and mountain biking routes. Namaqua horse trails are offered at a nearby farm, and the Goegap Nature Reserve is located within close proximity to the lodge.

The owners of the 300-hectare farm realised their dream and bought this piece of land a few years ago with the aim of living a soulful and quiet life, far away from the town's hustle and bustle.
