Description

St Lucia Kingfisher Lodge is situated in northern KwaZulu-Natal within the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ideally positioned overlooking the St Lucia Estuary and bordering the iGwalagwala Forest and walking trail, the lodge offers a tranquil, nature-focused experience, perfect for birding and nature enthusiasts.

The lodge comprises seven air-conditioned Suites, all serviced daily. Each Suite features a private patio overlooking lush tropical gardens. Rooms are furnished with either queen, double, or twin beds, fitted with high-quality cotton linen and ceiling-draped mosquito nets. Each suite has an en-suite bathroom, a bar fridge, tea & coffee-making facilities, a hairdryer, and free Wi-Fi. Laundry services and secure parking are available.

Breakfast is served daily in a dining area overlooking the garden and St Lucia Estuary. Dinner can be arranged on request or enjoyed at nearby restaurants. Guests can also relax by the swimming pool, ideal for cooling off on warm days.

The lodge gardens attract a variety of wildlife, including Hippos, Monkeys, Antelope and Warthogs, as well as over 200 recorded bird species.

The surrounding area offers a wide range of activities, including guided birding walks, horse riding or cycling on the beach, snorkelling at Cape Vidal, chartered ocean excursions, deep-sea fishing, and boat cruises on the estuary to view hippos and crocodiles. Safari trips to the eastern and western shores provide opportunities to see Elephants, Rhinos, Buffalo, Leopards, and a variety of Antelope and Birdlife.
