House Rules
There is a 2 km gravel road leading to the property, which is suitable for standard everyday vehicles. Lowered or sports vehicles are not recommended. Guests are required to enquire about the condition of the road before arrival.
Starry Starry Night manages the reserve to ensure harmony with its natural surroundings. Guests are asked to respect the environment and help protect this pristine mountain area.
For two adults and two children over 13, two units must be booked. Children are only accommodated in the Mountain Cottages by prior arrangement.
Guests are required to dispose of rubbish before departure.
Starry Starry Night has unfenced swimming pools, and young children must be supervised at all times. The swimming pool is available for guest use during the day until 17:00. A Kol Kol wood-fired hot tub is located at the communal pool and fire pit area, a two-minute walk from the cottages. After 17:00, guests may book a private Kol Kol wood-fired hot tub experience at an additional cost of R225. The first wood crate is provided, with additional crates available at an extra charge.
A maximum of two dogs is allowed at Nova StarDome by prior arrangement, and a maximum of one dog is allowed in the Mountain Cottages by prior arrangement with management. All dogs must be socialised and controllable, as the owners’ pets also live on the premises. Dogs must not interfere with wildlife or harm animals or birds, and are not allowed in the swimming pool or on the furniture. Dog waste must be bagged and removed from the homestead area and trails.
The use of drones is prohibited if complaints are received or if misbehaviour is observed.
Loud music is not permitted.
Fires must never be left unattended. Guests are required to alert the owners immediately and call the police if a fire is observed in the veld.
Smoking indoors is prohibited.
The property operates on solar power, which can supply electricity to the lights and fridge-freezer.
Guests who wish to have their sheets ironed may request this service in advance.
For postponements, guests must notify the host via email as soon as possible. A fee may apply.
The host reserves the right not to refund card fees (transaction costs) in the case of cancellations or situations requiring funds to be reversed to a credit card.
