Tarentaal Chalet

Description

Tarentaal Chalet is a cosy self-catering chalet situated on a scenic hiking property approximately 10 km off the R541 and 35 km from Machadodorp. Surrounded by mountains, indigenous vegetation, and the Komati River, the chalet offers a peaceful countryside retreat and forms part of the Mt Komati Hiking Trails camp. Guests have access to communal braai and lapa facilities shared with hikers and other guests, making use of the hiking camp facilities.

The chalet can accommodate up to 4 guests and comprises 1 bedroom furnished with a double bed, as well as an open-plan sleeping area containing 2 single beds. The separate bathroom is fitted with a shower, a washbasin, and a toilet. Linen, face towels, and bath towels are provided for guests’ convenience.

The open-plan living area features a kitchen equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, kettle, cutlery, and crockery for basic self-catering needs. A dining table with seating space is available for guests to enjoy meals together. The chalet opens onto a wooden deck overlooking the gardens, the Komati River, and the surrounding mountains. Outdoor seating is available on the patio, while shaded parking and a 2-vehicle carport are also provided.

This property forms part of the High5 Hiking Trails venue and offers access to more than 70 km of hiking trails, waterfalls, indigenous mountain forests, and sandstone rock formations. Various bird species and wildlife can also be seen in the area. Guests visiting the property can enjoy hiking, relaxation, and limited specialised fishing in a tranquil natural setting. Tarentaal Chalet shares certain communal outdoor spaces with nearby hiking guests and the neighbouring Kudu Cottage, situated approximately 250 m away.
