Overall it was nice.

On arrival, I experienced some checking-in issues. Our unit was occupied, and we had to call the manager to come sort out the misunderstanding. Gate codes were an issue for everyone when trying to leave the resort. We had no toilet paper and no dust bin for the rubbish. However, the host was very nice, and I appreciate their kindness. Thank you.

Wonderful as we came prepared for any inconveniences that may occur if we wanted.

Overall, great place for a holiday to relax. However, we did not have enough beds to accommodate us as per the recommended booking. There were not enough utensils and side plates to fit all of us, and there were a few broken/loose furniture items that were not safe to use. The restaurant service was quite slow; we settled our bill before placing our meal order.

Great.

We had a great stay, and the only challenge was mosquito bites just after 19:00 throughout the night.

Need some love and tender care.

Difficult to enter the estate. Key procedure ok but difficult to retrieve due to poor lighting. Flat need some renovation regarding curtains, showers, lights and fittings. No DStv connection.

It was bad.

The security guard had a bad attitude, their rules are unreasonable, they expect us to wear swimsuit with a cover that is not a see-through. Isn't it a beach where everyone can wear whatever they want? And load shedding, ️️️ just imagine a vacation that has no electricity. I suggest they have a backup generator. Vacations are meant to refresh our mind. The Wi-Fi was not working while they mentioned that they have free Wi-Fi. That was a turn off!

Very nice area.

The place was nice. Beautiful apartments. Room was big and nice. But it could have been cleaner.

Die kinders het die "see" baie geniet.

Ons het veral die "strand" geniet en die kinders ook. Die kano wat ons gehuur het was ook baie lekker. Die woonstel was redelik skoon, groot genoeg en die beddens het lekker geslaap. Die toilet in die hoofslaapkamer het ongelukkig eers nie gewerk nie, maar hulle het dit vir ons die volgende oggend reggestel. Die wasmasjien het nie gewerk nie en hulle kon dit ongelukkig nie herstel sodat ons dit in die woonstel kon gebruik nie. Hulle het darem aangebied om ons wasgoed vir ons te was in hul "kantoor-woonstel". Die WiFi het ook ongelukkig nie gewerk na die beurtkrag die eerste aand nie en dit was nog buite werking toe ons uitklok. Ons voel maar net dat die bestuur moet seker maak dat goed soos die toilette en wasmasjien ens. werk voordat die volgende gaste inklok, maar andersins is The Blyde 'n wonderlike plek om te bly en daar is baie om te doen in die buitelug eerder as in die woonstel.

We especially enjoyed the "beach" and so did the children. The canoe we rented was also very nice. The apartment was quite clean, big enough and the beds slept well. Unfortunately, the toilet in the master bedroom didn't work at first, but they fixed it for us the next morning. The washing machine didn't work and unfortunately they couldn't fix it so we could use it in the apartment. At least they offered to do our laundry for us in their "office apartment". The WiFi also unfortunately didn't work after the load shedding the first night and it was still out of order when we checked out. We just feel that the management should make sure that things like the toilets and washing machine etc. work before the next guests check in, but otherwise The Blyde is a great place to stay and there is plenty to do outdoors rather than in the apartment.

We had a pleasant stay at the place. I actually thought the place was located in a remote, secluded area, but it was not.

The admin for visitors is very tedious. I guess it's for security and control reasons, but I feel it's just too much.
