Interesting overnight stay. We booked the Ivy room, but were upgraded to Sandstone, which was a lovely spacious room. The decor was very interesting. The host was friendly and accommodating. We arrived in the wet, agitated after having travelled on one of the worst roads in South Africa - the R26 between Hobhouse and Ladybrand. There was no milk in our room, but the host organised a jug of fresh milk, so we could have a very much needed cup of tea. The only niggle was the parking; there seemed to be insufficient parking for the guests. We were parked in when we wanted to leave in the morning, but one of the staff helped us by tracking down the owners of the cars so they could move their cars and we could leave.
