Description
The Lekker Plek is a private self-catering homestead cottage situated on a smallholding approximately 25 km from Swellendam in the Overberg. Surrounded by open farmland, it offers a peaceful countryside escape ideal for guests seeking quiet relaxation and wide-open natural surroundings.
The cottage accommodates up to 4 guests and features 2 bedrooms, each furnished with a queen-size bed. The bathroom is fitted with a shower, toilet, and basin. The kitchen is well equipped with a stove, air fryer, fridge-freezer, microwave, cutlery, and crockery, while the open-plan living area includes a dining space, comfortable seating, a Google Smart TV and an open fireplace.
Guests can enjoy a private outdoor deck with a gazebo and seating area, a braai area, and a private splash pool that can be heated during the winter months. The property is fully fenced and situated on a working homestead
where sheep roam freely in the surrounding fields, adding to the authentic farm atmosphere.
The cottage is conveniently located within driving distance of Swellendam and nearby attractions such as Bontebok National Park, scenic mountain passes, hiking trails, and local wine farms.
Please note that the cottage operates fully off-grid on a solar PV system. While the system is designed for comfortable everyday use, guests are kindly asked to be mindful of electricity consumption and to avoid bringing additional high-powered appliances. Essential appliances provided may be used freely, and items such as hairdryers are permitted.
Electric vehicle charging can be arranged by prior discussion, subject to available solar capacity and weather conditions.
This thoughtful off-grid setup ensures a quiet, sustainable stay while maintaining comfort and convenience.
