Description
The School in Rheenedal is a beautifully restored old school and is located on an old school farm, approximately 17 km from central Knysna. The owner-run guest house offers a farm-style experience and is the ideal base from which to explore this part of the Garden Route. The owner is an artist and loves collecting art, books and vinyl, all of which are available for guests to view and use.
Accommodation at The School in Rheenedal consists of 2 individually decorated rooms which can accommodate 2 guests in each, or the entire house booked as a whole which can accommodate 6 guests in total as well as a cottage. The Church Room and the Elephant Room is furnished with a queen-size bed and an en-suite shower in each. In addition, each room contains tea- and coffee-making facilities.
The School House comprises the Church room and the Elephant room together. It also comprises a third bedroom with a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. Other facilities include a fully-equipped kitchen, a scullery, living room and a dining area. The house has a wrap-around patio with braai facilities and a large studio/workspace.
Mud Cottage accommodates 2 guests and comes equipped with a king-size bed, an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, Wi-Fi, and tea-and-coffee-making facilities. This unit also comes equipped with a fireplace and a kitchenette fitted with a fridge and stove.
The guest house also offers free Wi-Fi Internet and secure parking for vehicles.
The guest house can also be hired as a venue for creative workshops. Activities such as hiking, cycling and birding can also be enjoyed on the farm.
