Description
Three Tree Hill Lodge is an intimate lodge set into the side of a rocky hill, overlooking the Mfazimnyama Valley of the Spioenkop Game Reserve. The lodge is located near the historic site of a well-known Anglo-Boer War battle and is situated in the foothills of the KwaZulu-Natal Drakensberg, where rolling green hills are dotted with flat-crowned acacia trees, creating a classic ‘Out of Africa’ setting.
Accommodation is offered in Double/Twin Cottages, Kipling’s Family Cottage, Churchill’s Cottage, and Burchells Cottage. Three cottages accommodate up to four guests, while the remaining six cottages are each suited for two guests. Standard facilities include tea- and coffee-making facilities, an electronic safe, free Wi-Fi, and a hairdryer.
The lodge features a central lounge and dining area with large verandas, providing a comfortable space to relax and enjoy the surrounding scenery. Meals are often served outdoors, offering farm-style cuisine with valley views. The lounge and dining areas are connected by a central fireplace and include historical memorabilia and Africana for guest viewing.
The Molly Blackburn Library offers free Wi-Fi and contains more than 3,000 books for guest use. An underground wine cellar is also available, offering a selection of South African wines. Private dining and wine tastings can be arranged on request.
Additional facilities include a sheltered swimming pool, croquet lawn, sunrise viewing deck, sundowner viewing point, braai facilities, and a children’s outdoor play area with a jungle gym, trampoline, obstacle course, sandpit, and fantasy house.
