Tomjachu Bush Retreat is an exclusive, family-owned private nature reserve set in over 550 hectares of game-fenced mountain bushveld, located within the Crocodile Valley Nature Conservancy. Tomjachu Bush Retreat is located 15 km from Mbombela (Nelspruit), and overlooks the southern boundary of the Kruger National Park and the great Crocodile River valley.
The bush retreat is situated in its own valley, with breathtaking views of the Bekker mountains and endless bushveld vistas. The homestead and nearby cottages are surrounded by beautiful gardens, lawns, and terraces.
Accommodation is offered in the Homestead, 3 delightful cottages, and the Valbonne Villa, each with its own unique character. The historic homestead offers old-world charm and comprises 3 en-suite bedrooms, ideal for families or couples. The cottages are ideal for either small families or romantic getaways for 2. Valbonne Villa was once the family home and is a fully serviced, self-catering unit suitable for 6 couples or 12 guests sharing. The villa is perched high above the homestead and offers spectacular views from its extensive verandah and infinity pool. There are a variety of other accommodation choices to choose from namely Rock House, Keeper's Cottage, Bush Cottage, and Crooked Cottage.
The property offers spectacular locations to enjoy bush dinners under the stars, lit only with the flicker of lanterns. Enjoy picnics by the water's edge or at one of the other picnic sites. Choose between self-catering or dining with us in the elegant dining room, with culinary delights served by the chef.
Whether you are looking for adventure or relaxation, with family, friends, or your loved one, Tomjachu offers something for everyone. On the trails, tracks, and roads, one can mountain bike through the bush on easy or challenging routes, hike amongst the abundant plains game and through mountains and valleys, go for a game drive or guided walk with an experienced ranger, and try your hand at fishing for bass and bream in our dams, or simply unwind by the pool, listening to the orchestra of over 265 bird species, as the fresh mountain air trickles up from the valley below.
