Tuckaway Guesthouse is an owner-run countryside retreat situated on the historic Broadlands Stud Farm in the peaceful rural area of Somerset West. Surrounded by farmland, wetlands, indigenous gardens, and abundant birdlife, the guesthouse offers a tranquil farm-style escape while remaining close to beaches, wine estates, restaurants, and shopping centres.
Ideally located along the Helderberg Wine Route, the property is approximately 6 km from Gordon’s Bay and the popular Bikini Beach, and about 10 km from Somerset Mall.
Accommodation is offered in a spacious private guest suite ideal for couples, solo travellers, and business guests. The suite is furnished with a queen-size bed and features an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath and shower. The suite has a private entrance opening onto the garden, a large bay window with garden views, and a private patio seating area.
The suite includes complimentary Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV with Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon Prime Video, a surround sound entertainment system, tea- and coffee-making facilities, purified drinking water, a microwave, bar fridge, dining or work table, ceiling fan, and wall panel heater. Secure parking is available on the property.
Please note that cooking is not permitted in the suite. Braai facilities are available on request and subject to weather conditions.
Guests can relax in the peaceful gardens beneath mature trees and enjoy the surrounding wetlands and birdlife, including regular sightings of Fish Eagles and Eagle Owls. The property is equipped with a 10 kW solar and battery backup system, an independent water supply with storage tanks, and a solar-powered pressure pump system to assist during load-shedding periods.
Nearby attractions include the Stellenbosch Winelands, Blue Rock Adventure Park, scenic coastal drives, Gordon’s Bay beachfront restaurants and cafés, and neighbouring padel courts available by prior arrangement and at an additional cost.
