Amazing mountain wine farm stay. The 4 km road entering Meiringspoort and taking one to Varkenskraal Farm from De Rust is breathtakingly beautiful. We were warmly welcomed by firstly gorgeous Nguni cows and then Debbie, the hospitality manager (like meeting an old friend), and Gizmo the pigeon, who showed us to our beautiful cottage set below the mountain called "Werkershuis". Everything one could think of to make a self-catering stay comfortable was there, and we received a cooled complimentary bottle of Varkenskraal wine. Every window has a lovely vineyard or farm view, coffee, and rusks were provided, and we enjoyed a comfortable night's rest in the cottage heated by the living area fireplace. The walk around the farm was refreshing. We were greeted in the morning by the Ngunis passing by the cottage en route to their grazing spot. We would love to return and enjoy a few nights here in this incredibly relaxing environment. Thanks to the owner for his efficient communication via WhatsApp.

Would return in a heartbeat! Absolutely delightful stay - everything is thought of and catered for. Right at the start of the Meiringspoort, ideal for cycling! We cycled the Poort through to Klaarstroom for tea and scones and back into town for coffee! De Rust needs the business, as does everyone after the floods. A beautiful part of the world - with loads of backroads to gravel grind. It was great returning to our cottage. Comfy bed, huge hot shower, well-appointed kitchen. We loved it so much, we spent an extra day and visited the Karoo Donkey Sanctuary down the road!

Lovely stay in a well-equipped cottage with beautiful views of the mountains. We had a lovely stay in Die Voerstal. The cottage was very clean and well equipped with everything you need.
