Extra Fees
In addition to the rates in the table above, this property also charges a once-off:

Breakage Deposit
A refundable breakage deposit of R2000 is payable directly to the property.
House Rules
Smoking is not allowed inside the house.
Instructions for the alarm:
CabinCare will provide information on the alarm system, remote buttons and secure access to the property.
Pets are not allowed.
Refuse Collection:
Waste & Recycling
• Use the black-lined bin for general waste
• Use the clear-lined bin for recyclables (glass, plastic, paper, etc.)
Waste collection is on Mondays
• Please place garbage bags on the roadside by 8:00 AM
Breakages:
We understand that sometimes accidents happen! Should you break anything, please let us know immediately - if it's minor, we usually won't charge, but would appreciate it if you replace it with a similar article. If it's a larger issue (e.g. the TV screen!) we would like to agree the cost with you before you leave, to avoid any issues later.
Pool/Beach Towels:
Please don’t take the bath towels to the beach – there are pool/beach towels available.
Garden & Pool Services:
The garden and pool service companies' cleaning schedule will be advised depending on the season.
Braai Area:
A gas braai is available on the covered and enclosed patio. There is also a dual fireplace/braai inside the living area.
NB: Please do not leave the indoor braai unattended with hot coals.
Quiet Time:
Kindly keep noise levels to a reasonable level for our neighbours, especially at night after 10 pm. Please, no parties and no overnight visitors other than booked guests.
Pool Rules:
• Use of the pool is at guests’ own risk (no lifeguard on duty)
• Plastic glasses only around the pool (provided)
• No glassware permitted poolside
• Children must be supervised at all times
Solar & Inverter Use:
• The home runs on a solar/inverter backup system.
• Avoid using the tumble dryer and washing machine at the same time.
• Heavy appliances may be restricted during load shedding
Weather Awareness:
• Hermanus can experience windy conditions - Please be mindful when opening the lower deck folding patio doors.
• The upper deck has chairs with cushions - ensure they are secured with straps on windy days.
• On rainy days, please bring all exterior chair cushions inside to prevent damage.
Safe Drinking Water:
Tap water is safe for drinking
The home is fitted with a 4-stage filtration system including UV sterilization
The Western Cape has experienced droughts in recent years.
While Hermanus is less affected, please:
• Use water sparingly
• Ensure taps are tightly closed
• Limit long showers and unnecessary washing
