Located just outside Pietermaritzburg, Cumberland Guest House offers lovely self-catering accommodation on a 570-hectare farm boasting acacia woodland, spectacular red cliffs, deep forested valleys, and waterfalls along the Umgeni and Rietspruit Rivers.
This guest house comprises 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, comfortably accommodating 7 guests. The first bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed that can convert into 2 single beds and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with both a bath and a shower. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed, and the third bedroom is furnished with a tri-bunk. The guest bathroom is fitted with a shower.
The open-plan living space features a dining area and a lounge with a fireplace and comfortable couches. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, stove, oven, kettle, toaster, and microwave.
Guests can unwind on the covered patio and enjoy the scenic views, as well as make use of the braai facilities. All guests have full access to the property’s communal swimming pool.
The Umgeni River forms part of the boundary of the reserve and is home to many species of freshwater fish, as well as some resident crocodiles. This property is also part of a 3500-hectare conservancy bordering the reserve, allowing guests to take in even more beautiful bush and farmland beyond.
