Step into the Old Wagon Shed at River Bend, a quiet echo of historic Graaff-Reinet. Once, Karoo homes like this housed handmade wagons in sturdy wagon sheds attached to their homes. Today, those spaces embrace their antique charm. Recently renovated and offering an antique double bed with a brand-new mattress, a generous riempie bench and traditional stable doors, all framed by original roof beams and deep-set windows. Thick whitewashed walls keep the space naturally cool, while shutters filter soft Karoo light. The bathroom offers both a shower and bath, with a shuttered window opening to garden views. Simple "Heat-and-eat" facilities are provided. A microwave, kettle, bar fridge, crockery and cutlery make quick warm-up meals after a long day very easy. A private entrance, just one small step into the front door, leads to your Old Wagon Shed, historically and affectionately called "The Klipkamer". Outside, Cypress trees shade a lush lawn, framed by historic lei-water furrows, creating a rare green sanctuary to enjoy Karoo lamb on a braai, linger, read or enjoy your "heat and eat" picnic.

Bedrooms: The main bedroom offers a queen bed dressed in crisp white linen and a generous en-suite bathroom with bath and shower. Air-conditioning, a ceiling fan and electric blankets ensure comfort in every season. An interleading bedroom with two single beds (extra mattress available) opens into a sun-filled lounge and dining room. Kitchen, Dining and Living Room: Fully equipped with a gas hob, oven, full-size freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster, complemented by old-world crockery. The open-plan living area is warmly furnished with inviting, comfortable furniture and a diningroom table — perfect for slow breakfasts and long conversations. Garden & Setting: Three outdoor tables invite unhurried braais under vast Karoo skies. Historic lei-water furrows still trace the lawn, shaded by two tall cypress trees — ideal for morning coffee or sunset sundowners.
