Breakage Deposit

A refundable breakage deposit of R1000 is payable directly to the property.

House Rules

Please note that there is a gravel road leading to the accommodation. Guests are required to enquire with the establishment about the condition of the road before booking.

Soft background music is allowed inside the house at the owner’s discretion; however, no music is permitted outside the unit. All noise levels must be kept to a minimum, as the house is situated in a nature reserve.

Fire poses a significant risk in the area, and no fires may be left unattended. This includes boma fires and braais. Fires are only permitted in designated fire pits and braai areas. The fireplace in the lounge is for decorative purposes only and may not be used. All fires must be fully extinguished with water before going to bed. In windy conditions, only the Weber braai may be used. No wood may be collected from around the house or the veld; firewood is available for purchase.

Dinokeng may occasionally ban open fires during the winter months due to the high risk of bushfires, and guests will be informed accordingly.

Smoking is not permitted inside the house.

Self-driving is not allowed within the park. Access to Leeuwkloof Park Private Reserve is restricted to designated Kudu Plains vehicles, and no private vehicles may be used for game viewing. Sunset and game drives can be arranged at an additional cost.

Walking and cycling are permitted on the main dirt roads and are undertaken at the guest’s own risk. Guests are requested not to enter private driveways or walk close to houses. Although the reserve is not a Big 5 area, leopards and other small predators have occasionally been spotted, and guests are advised to remain vigilant at all times.

The house is fully off-grid and operates on gas for water heating, solar power with battery backup, and a generator for use during poor weather. Guests are requested to be mindful when using these resources. Please do not bring high-consumption electrical appliances such as electric frying pans, microwaves, personal hairdryers, or electric heaters. Low-wattage hairdryers are provided, and a gas heater is available, with gas supplied at an additional cost.

Bedding and blankets are not to be taken outside or onto the veranda. Guests are advised to bring their own blankets for outdoor use.

A refundable breakage deposit is charged with the booking and will be returned within 48 hours after departure, provided no items are damaged, broken, or excessively soiled. Any breakages or additional cleaning required will be deducted from the deposit.

Pets are unfortunately not permitted.

Daily cleaning services for kitchen counters and dishes can be arranged at an additional cost and are available twice daily.

Game drives, including a sunset sundowner experience, can be arranged at an additional cost. The sundowner drive includes a stop at a scenic location to enjoy the sunset. Guests are requested to bring their own snacks and beverages.

Firewood is available for purchase at an additional cost.

Please note that a conservation fee and a refundable breakage deposit will be invoiced once the booking has been confirmed.
