Description
La Ferme offers comfortable self-catering accommodation ideal for a relaxed weekend away in the Franschhoek Winelands, approximately 10 km away from the Franschhoek Main Road and located next to the Hawequa Nature Reserve. It is an ideal spot for those with a keen interest in fly fishing, as there are stocked dams right on your doorstep. Guests can enjoy beautiful views in a tranquil setting.
Accommodation is offered in 4 self-catering cottages each with a private wood-fired hot tub, kitchenette and a living area. Each cottage is equipped with a fridge, a stove, a microwave, air-conditioning, a TV with Showmax, and braai facilities. Relax on the wooden deck of the chalet and light a fire. Breakfast Boxes can be booked on request. Linen and bath towels are provided.
Guests have access to Wi-Fi and the farm has solar power with battery backup, which supplies backup power to the property.
The farm is child-friendly, with some farm animals, a jungle gym and a pool. Adults can enjoy the fishing dams or a bath in the crystal clear Wemmershoek River and a braai on their private veranda.
There are 4 well-stocked dams in which to catch rainbow trout, bass and carp. Pack a picnic or make use of the braai facilities around the dams. For those who love the outdoors, activities include mountain biking and hiking in the neighbouring nature reserve. Guests can bring their own bikes and will need to book a permit through Cape Nature to ride in the reserve.
The area is also ideal for exploring award-winning and beautiful wine farms. Take a drive into Franschhoek and visit one of the many lovely restaurants. The Franschhoek Motor Museum is also a popular attraction and is located 10.3 km from La Ferme.
There are several wine farms in the neighbourhood, like Lynx, Topiary, Freedom Hill or Eikehof, that offer wine tastings. Within a short drive, restaurants can be found at La Paris Estate, Lynx, Topiary or Antonij Rupert.
