It was an unusual B & B in that it was a refuge for distressed animals of all sorts and our nice hostess gave us a fascinating background to her varied life there and overseas. Loved our stay and expect to return sometime this year.

Very comfortable. I love old farmhouses, but the host makes or breaks all establishments. The host is friendly, helpful and happy to go the extra mile. She was open and accommodating of my busy dog and willing to let him roam the property. The host is a gem.

Smithfield House felt like an oasis, with a beautiful garden and farm-like atmosphere. The house is tastefully decorated and the proprieter is hospitable and personable. We had a relaxing and enjoyable stay and would definitely wish to return.

Die gastehuis is, soos die meeste ander gastehuise op die dorp, oud, maar goed ingerig. Amanda is 'n interessante en belese gasvrou wat mens graag meer sou wou leer ken as die tyd dit toegelaat het. 'n Goeie oornag- of kuierplek.

Great food, beautiful rooms in historical farmhouse, spotlessly clean, good security.

I enjoyed the food. Vegetarian pizza for supper. Homemade bread and basil pesto with a farm style breakfast in the morning. The property is very secure, enclosed with an electric fence - decisive element in our current context.

Die eienaar was baie behulpsaam, was selfs bereid om vir ons aandete te maak as ons nie iets in die dorpie kon kry nie.

Plattelandse gasvryheid was wonderlike ervaring.

Ten spyte van die winterkoue was ons verblyf 'n warm en hartlike ervaring. Die kamers was lekker warm en goed toegerus. Verder was ons gasvrou baie akkommoderend en goeie advies en inligitng oor die dorp verskaf. Sal ongetwyfeld weer daar oorbly.

It's a beautiful house with exceptional furniture and carpets, very comfortable and spacious.

We thought it was self-catering accommodation. Braai area listed as an option. Fortunately our hostess was kind enough to heat our prepared meal which we enjoyed in the bedroom! Perhaps there should be a clearer message that self-catering is not an option.
