House Rules

Guest Numbers & Rates

The base rate covers 1–2 guests.

R180 per additional guest per night, up to a maximum of 6 guests in total.

Only registered guests may stay overnight.

Quiet Enjoyment.

Sunbird Place is located in a quiet residential neighbourhood in Durbanville.

Quiet hours: 22:00–08:00.

No parties or events are permitted.

Smoking

No smoking or vaping indoors.

Smoking is permitted outdoors only — please use the ashtray provided and keep doors and windows closed.

Pets

Pets are allowed by prior approval only, maximum of 2 pets.

Pets must be kept off furniture, cleaned up after, and not left unattended.

(Verified service animals are always welcome.)

Check-in / Check-out

Check-in: From 14:00 (flexible by prior arrangement).

Late check-in after 22:00 on the day of arrival may incur a R500 host call-out fee — please confirm in advance.

Check-out: By 10:00.

Garage / Parking

The garage is not included.

Please use the designated parking space(s) on the property.

No vehicle maintenance or repairs may be carried out on the premises.

Electricity

We provide 10 kWh of prepaid electricity per night of your stay on a fair-use basis.

Example: A 17-night stay includes 170 kWh.

You may use this allocation as you wish. Once it is used, a top-up will be required.

If you need additional electricity at any time, please let us know — we’re happy to assist with a top-up.

Water Usage

A fair-use water allocation of 600 litres per day is included for the entire house.

This comfortably covers normal household use such as showers, cooking, and cleaning.

Should additional water be required due to excessive use, we can assist with a quick top-up.

This helps ensure sustainability and keeps the accommodation affordable for everyone.

Cleaning & Refuse

For stays that include Friday (general waste) or Monday (recycling):

Please place the black bin out on Friday morning and the green bin on Monday morning, and return them after collection.

If this is inconvenient, let us know — we’re happy to handle it.

Damage & Care

Please report any breakages immediately.

Guests are responsible for any damage or missing items during their stay.

Please do not move heavy furniture.

Safety

No open flames or candles indoors.

Braai only in the designated area, and children must be supervised at all times.

Amenities

Netflix is available — please log in using your own account.

Keyboard / Piano

Playing the keyboard/piano is not permitted.

Please respect municipal bylaws and our neighbours.

Commercial photography or filming is allowed only with prior written permission.
