Tarentaal Chalet

Description

Tarentaal Chalet is a cosy self-catering chalet located on a beautiful hiking property 10km off the R541 and is situated 35 km from Machadodorp. The chalet has a lovely wooden deck in front which overlooks the well manicured gardens, Komati river and mountains. It also forms part of the Mt Komati hiking trails camp and can be booked separately, or to be used with the rest of the hiking facilities. Tarentaal chalet shares the communal outside braai and lapa areas with the hiking groups.

This chalet can accommodate up to 4 guests at a time and comprises 1 bedroom with double bed, an open plan room with two single beds and a separate bathroom making it comfortable for everyone. A shower, washbasin and toilet is available in the bathroom. All linen, face and shower towels are provided.

The open-plan living area features a kitchen equipped with the very basics, a stove, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, cutlery and crockery and kettle. Leading from the kitchen is a dining table with ample seating for guests to enjoy their meals together.

Outside the cabin, there is a lovely patio with outdoor seating which is an ideal spot for guests to enjoy a sundowner in the middle of the trees. A two vehicle car port is available, and lots of shaded parking under the trees.

This property forms part of the High5 Hiking Trails venue and offers over 70 km of some of the best inland hiking trails in South Africa with waterfalls - including the Uitkomst waterfall, aka the legendary Bride's leap waterfall, 2nd tallest in Mpumalanga at a majestic 85 meters! - indigenous mountain forests and the sandstone rock formations of the Skurweberg. Various game species and unusual, area-specific birds can be seen.

One visits here to get away from everything. The only activities are hiking, limited (specialised) fishing and relaxation. Here one is far away from everything except beauty, peace and quiet. Tarentaal chalet guests will only share the communal spaces with other hikers, or guests, in the next door hiking camp, and Kudu cottage which is about 250 meters away.

Expect a beautiful, basix rural environment and facility. Nothing extravagant, yet everything is lovingly maintained and cared for.
