The Prawn Hatchery is located in Ongoye, KwaZulu Natal, and is situated on an old prawn breeding farm on a lagoon, overlooking a deserted beach and nature reserve. It is a perfect getaway for those seeking a vacation away from the city life.

The accommodation comprises of 11 rooms, CaraSuite and Matt's Retro to accommodate up to 50 guests at a time. The rooms offer comfortable beds, linen and towels, air-conditioning and a private bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin.

The establishment facilities include communal splash pools, braai areas, conference facilities and secure parking on the premises.

Guests are welcome to make use of the 2 communal kitchens and dining area to suit their self-catering needs.

The activities available to guests on the property include fly-fishing, line-cast fishing, bird watching, hiking and mountain biking. The accommodation also has an additional campsite on the premises.
