The Cottage is a charming, compact freestanding unit, ideal for a peaceful countryside escape. This off-grid unit is powered by solar and gas, offering guests a comfortable and eco-conscious stay. The unit comprises 2 small bedrooms and can accommodate up to 4 guests. The bedrooms are each furnished with a king-size bed, which can be converted to 2 single beds. Bedding is provided. There is a full bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, basin and toilet, as well as a second shower room with toilet and basin for added convenience. The open-plan living area includes a basic equipped kitchen with a gas stove and oven, microwave, fridge, hot beverage selection incl Filter Coffee, cutlery and crockery, and a cosy indoor lounge. Outdoor living is equally catered for, with a covered braai veranda offering stunning views of the dam. Guests can enjoy meals or relax while watching animals grazing in the yard or visiting the water trough. The outdoor area includes both a gas and wood braai, ideal for relaxed evenings in the fresh air. Parking is open and has access to a power point for battery charging. The Cottage offers a unique blend of comfort, simplicity and natural beauty, and remains a popular choice for guests seeking a restful break. This unit also has free Wi-Fi. Regret, no pets allowed, as the garden is partially fenced. Smoking is allowed outdoors, and guests’ choice of smoke is respected. Cigarette butts should be disposed of in the provided ashtrays and not in the garden or veld grass.

Children or non-swimmers may only use the shower-tub and the shallow pool at Maflute’s under strict adult supervision. Only tins or plastic glasses are allowed in the pool; no coffee mugs, teacups, or glass bottles.
Smoking is prohibited indoors but allowed outdoors. Cigarette butts must be disposed of in the provided ashtrays.
Guests must not approach, feed, or harm animals or birds. Dogs must not be fed under any circumstances; any resulting veterinary costs will be charged to the guest. Garden Cottage guests must be dog-friendly and confident, as guard dogs are not confined. Some dogs may swim in the pool.
Visitors are allowed from 09:00 to 18:00 and must be accompanied by the guest. Permission must be requested in advance. Guests are responsible for opening and closing the main gate. Unapproved overnight guests will be charged R500 per person per night.
Noise must be reasonable at all times. Music must be lowered by 23:00, and no music or loud noise is allowed after midnight.
Self-catering rooms may be serviced Monday to Friday on request. This may incur a fee of R200 per day at the owner’s discretion.
The property is fully off-grid. Electricity and water must be used sparingly. Lights should not be left on unnecessarily. Low battery levels may affect water pressure. Gas geysers and the pressure pump must not be tampered with; any issues must be reported to the owner. Guests must notify the owner if the Jojo tank falls below half.
All breakages or damage must be reported. Guests are responsible for major damage, which may incur a replacement charge. Guests are responsible for their belongings, which may be damaged by dogs or monkeys. All guests must behave respectfully toward others.
No guest pets are allowed except at Maflute’s. Fireworks are strictly prohibited.
Boat and car parking are available, mostly open. The property has direct private gate access to Albert Falls Dam.
Only pre-approved electrical appliances are allowed. Mobile air conditioners are strictly prohibited. Music systems may be brought at guests’ own risk.

Description
Maflute's is a quaint and comfortable self-catering cottage that offers unique views of Albert Falls Dam and the surrounding farmlands. Maflute's accommodates 6 guests in 3 bedrooms, of which 2 have en-suite bathrooms. Each bedroom is furnished with 2 single beds, which can be converted to a king-size bed on request. All bathrooms are fitted with spacious showers, 2 of which feature hand-held showers. A 7th "bed" is a sleeper couch, ideal for a child. The kitchen is equipped with a gas stove/oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, as well as cutlery and crockery. The open-plan living area features a dining table and lounge seating. The covered veranda has an outdoor lounge, a 6-seater dining table, a built-in braai and a mobile gas braai. The enclosed garden is child and dog-friendly, but dogs are only allowed by prior arrangement. The shallow splash pool is a popular feature and is also used by guests with mobility restrictions. Maflute's is 100% off-grid, operating on solar power and gas. This unit has free Wi-Fi but no TV - guests can request to visit the homestead to catch a game. Local attractions include the Msinsi Albert Falls Dam, and fishermen can access the farm through a private gate by prior arrangement. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy sightings of a variety of birds, bucks, zebras, and geckos around the property, and especially Big Boy, the resident giraffe.

The Garden Cottage, located in the host’s garden, is an annexe featuring 3 en-suite bedrooms, each furnished with a choice of a king or 2 single beds. All bathrooms are fitted with showers, and bathroom 3 also has a bath. The second and third bedrooms can be connected via a Jack & Jill bathroom, making it ideal for a family with young children. The connecting door can remain locked to keep the rooms separate. Each room is equipped with ceiling or wall fans, mosquito repellents, and beverage stations with milk, coffee, and tea options. The covered veranda lends the most beautiful view while providing a comfortable retreat from the sun or rain. The veranda is enclosed for added safety. Guests at the Garden Cottage can request exclusive use of the pool and entertainment areas by prior arrangement with the host. The indoor entertainment area features a snooker table and DSTV, and you're welcome to bring darts. The kitchen is well equipped with fridge-freezers. Filter coffee machines/plungers are available. The property has 6 large dogs that provide security, and only dog-friendly/confident guests are welcomed. Guest pets are not permitted. All our dogs interact with guests, and some also swim, so children must be supervised at all times. The dog's movements are unrestricted within their home and garden. Smoking is allowed outdoors, and guests are free to smoke their "brand" of choice. Guests may request to host a small gathering, but strictly by prior arrangement. T&Cs and Fees will apply.
