TO Strand Vakansieoord offers guests a choice of self-catering units and camping in Port Edward.

Guests can book 4- or 5-sleeper Chalets, which are furnished with double beds or a combination of double and single beds. Each of the units also has a private bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with a fridge, a microwave as well as a stove and oven. Each of the chalets also has a TV with 10 DStv channels. All units have private entrances, and some of the units are air-conditioned.

Guests can also book a caravan and camping spot, some of which are located near the river and the others near the beach. 2 Ablution blocks are shared between the camping sites.

The resort offers walking routes, mini golf, 2 swimming pool and a play area for children. During the holiday seasons, entertainment is available for the families. A conference centre, a restaurant, hall and wedding venue is also available. Please note that the restaurant and bar are subject to availability and use thereof needs to be pre-arranged.

Unfortunately, pets are not allowed, except for guide- and therapeutic dogs. The resort is patrolled by 24-hour guards as well as the SAPS.

The beach is semi-private and shark nets are in place in peak seasons. Lifeguards are also on duty on weekends and in peak season. The annual sardine run also draws a lot of fishermen.
