Description

Adama Artistic Chalets & Teepees offers a tranquil bushveld retreat in the Dinokeng Game Reserve, just 48 km from Pretoria. The lodge features 6 uniquely decorated chalets and 2 Indian-style teepees, each fully furnished with handmade furniture, private open-air bomas, and fire pits for starlit braais. The chalets vary in construction: some are built with natural materials such as straw, clay, and grass, while others are made of brick and corrugated metal – blending seamlessly into the surrounding wilderness where wildlife roams freely.

The teepees include private bathrooms, kitchens, patios, fans, heaters, and down duvets for comfort. A communal swimming pool is just a short drive from the units. Guests can explore a 140 km self-drive route suitable for standard vehicles, as well as an additional 23 km route designed for high-clearance or 4x4 vehicles. As the units are unfenced, guests are advised to remain alert, avoid walking into the bush, and supervise children at all times. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed.

Access through the Rust de Winter or Boekenhoutskloof gates includes the first hour free; standard conservation fees apply thereafter.

Self-drive permits require a once-off payment of R250. Pensioners receive discounted rates from Monday to Thursday. A detailed route guide is available at an additional cost, though it does not serve as a permit. Driving without a permit will result in a fine of, and a recovery fee of applies if you get stuck in a restricted area.
