Authentic Karoo farm. A step into the past. Tranquil place of quietness and rest. We stayed for one night (2 couples) on our way back from the Cape. This will be our new place to stay. The warm welcome from the staff was overwhelming. They busied themselves about us like we were royalty and produced a delicious 3-course evening meal of slow-cooked lamb. This is an older authentic Karoo farmstead once owned by Dr Christiaan Barnard. If you are looking for an experience of what it would be like to live in this great desert in years past, then this is the place. Bloemhof Karoo is the kind of place that once you are there, you wish you could stay for a week. I loved it. Jenny is delightful, offering tips and suggestions to make the most of your journey to the farm. Highly recommendable.

Beautiful, comfortable, great staff. Beautiful location! We stayed in the Ossewakamer. The room and bathroom are very spacious, comfortable, clean and very tastefully decorated. There was a fan and air conditioner in our room, which helped a lot! The house is full of history and is an interesting place in itself. There is a lovely stoep where we sat in the afternoon and were spoiled with rooibos tea and milk tart. But the best of all are the staff, who really go out of their way to make us feel at home and spare no effort. We enjoyed dinner there and were really spoiled with the most delicious boerekos: lamb pie, beans, sweet carrots and potatoes. We also enjoyed roosterkoek one evening, so delicious! We went on a game drive one afternoon and saw more of the beautiful farm.

Gorgeous, comfortable and peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay here. The place is gorgeous - picture perfect Karoo home and landscape. I could have sat on the stoep for weeks! The staff are excellent and so helpful and kind. They went out of their way to accommodate our dietary needs. The bed was super comfy. Can't wait to be back!
